Since we don't have our own >Question that dont deserve their own thread, thread

I have to stop practicing muay thai because of financial problems for the foreseeable future. Is shadow boxing/training a good way to maintain technique? Can it improve my technique?

My gym was pretty much all technique training. It wasn't training real fighters but it was the only one in my town. I've never sparred either

Shadow training works, but it doesn't compensate for sparring.

Shadow boxing is absolutely effective, but that doesn't mean throwing half-assed punches in the mirror. I'd recommend you record yourself shadowboxing and then watch yourself and look for errors or points to focus on,such as:
>am I fully extending my punches?
>am I coming straight back, or dropping my hands?
>is my chin tucked?
>am I rotating my hips?
>am I protecting my head?
>am I balanced when I check kicks / is my leg straight?
>am I balanced at all times?

I was wondering the same thing but I kept forgetting to make the thread.
Thanks OP
