It's alive but this seems like a terrible idea. /asp/ was already a spinoff board from /sp/, and the intent was to provide a place for sportsy/outdoorsy activities that are a little more niche and just won't have the numbers to have fast, constant threads. /asp/ was slow, but it was fulfilling its mission.
Now the place is going to be a one-note board, because the audience for pro-wrestling is bigger than the audience for all the other interests that were here put together. That shift in userbase will have the exact same result as if they'd just deleted /asp/ and replaced it with /wwe/.
I'm not saying nobody should talk about wrestling, but we have a pokemon-specific board separate from the video game board for similar reasons.

Individual sports threads will find their audiences. MMA and Mandrama are the only two subjects that have ever been popular enough on this board to justify multiple threads. Which makes sense since this board was specifically made to get the MMA and mandrama threads out of /sp/. Extreme sports, paintball, airsoft, and other niche sports found a home as a bonus.
But yeah, I do think the /wwe/ faggots are taking it out of hand shitposting everywhere. Mods and Janitors are needed.
