Really nice osoto with the mechanics of a knee cut pass, however i cringe, if uke didn't know how to fall its a good way to destroy a person's knee, Hell even with good ukemi this osto variant could pop a person's knee with enough speed to it.

This is why I fear wrestlers the most
>>731608
>tfw favorite takedown in wrestling but can't slam like that aside from mma
>>731701
Can you do an ippon seoi in wrestling? I've hit the drop but I feel like without the gi, you have to have the drop in order to make the throw work
>>730816
I'ven't seen one of those in a while
>>731122
is that legal on mma?
>>731810
no
>>731810
MMA with vale tudo rules yea
>>731534
this one is incredible.
>>731608
That's a 100% pure bjj fighter
>>731858
For once tbh fam
>>731175
Ippon seoi nage?
>>731866
sode tsuri komi with a front belt grip modification
very beautiful and sneaky since its technically illegal to grip the belt like he did, but the ref didn't see it.
>>731771
what happened there?
>>731872
guy in head gear goes for a head lock throw/half hip throw variant, misses it, non head gear guy counters with a nice ura nage/suplex.
>>731734
seoi nage happens time to time in wrestling, don't mentally handicap yourself thinking a piece of clothe makes or breaks a technique, it makes your grappling career plateau hard.
A strong grip on the arm is all you need to make seoi nage work in wrestling. that and kazushi with stems from the strong grip. Variants have evolved to compensate for gi or no gi which has forced the evolution for like lateral drops and whizzer based throws that are akin to judo's shoulder throw

Guy in blue goes for a throw from double underhooks and the guy in black counters with an illegal throw from double overhooks
>>731877
Judo just did Aikido better than Aikido can. That throw is basically shiho nage, minus the wrist lock. Bizarre.

>>731931
Yep
>>731932
Looks pretty cool, tbh. May have the chance to train KK soon, though I would also like to train Judo. From what I saw in this thread it also seems pretty awesome. Can't choose both, halp.
>>731934
Just decide if you're more comfortable with striking of grappling.
>>731703
Is this legal?

Daton Fix (curly hair) is the future of wrestling
>>731953
Yes if he is getting back points (exposure) like he was then it is a legal pinning combination
>>731977
Its actually nederlands vs jermany
Any aikido gifs
Here I thought Judo was for the weaklings who are too afraid to go into (kick)boxing. These gif are fucking brutal
>>731534
this whole fight was god back and fourth
>>732216
they dont exist because it doesnt work in real grappling
>>732216
>>733009
thats fantastic
>>733024
Agreed. 2dangerous4sport. Especially that kiss of death to the forehead at the end
>>731130
Has he tapped for the takedown or was that a sign of appreciation/confusion?
>>733091
I think his knee didn't really appreciate the takedown.
>>732225
Yeah slamming people/getting slammed into the ground is clearly the soft option you retard.
>>731934
Judo
>>733100
I think that everyone that has tried both striking and grappling can agree that:
"strike" are a lot more "mentaly aggressive" while throw are a lot more powerfull

what sort of hold is this?
>>733272
I don't get it
If somebody raised their knee like that, would the instinctive thing to do be to back up?
Not move towards it with your rear hand guarding your jaw?
Don't practice martial arts, I'm genuinely asking anybody who does for their opinion on this
>>733296
My first guess is that he thought his opponent was throwing a kick to the head from the outside like you see here >>733276 You can see that the head kick here also starts with the raised knee and then the leg extends. So he tries to throw that arm up to block the head kick but his opponent throws a front kick straight up the middle.
>>733351
But why would you use your arm to block a kick?
Wouldn't moving entirely be the best course of action to avoid a kick, whether side kick or whatever or front kick to the face?
Just saying, from a physics standpoint contact is still an exchange in energy, and the leg is the heaviest and most lever-like capable limb on the body
Idk I dont fight but it doesn't seem like a persons forearm cannot effectively block a person of similar size and weight swinging their leg around with torque
Are you speaking from experience?
Again I have no point of reference, and I could be wrong as fuck, I'm just pointing out what seems to make sense from a non-practitioners standpoint
>>733373
forgot to add, thanks for your response and for being helpful
>>733373
Your arms can block kicks just fine, as long as you don't mess up and block bone-to-bone. The reason he would block instead of trying to evade was that his weight was already committed forward so he couldn't lean back, and attempting to duck under a kick of any sort is extremely dangerous (you might misread the kick and end up ducking *into* it instead).
>>733373
Of course avoiding it is the best course of action but you can't really dodge every strike. Blocking a kick with your arm is still gonna do some damage to you, sometimes enough to break your arm, sometimes none at all, but sometimes it's all you've got. In his situation he was coming forward already so he didn't have a lot of opportunity to dodge without putting himself in more danger so he tried to block which was also ineffective since he misread his opponents attack
>>733422
oh god wtf is that and source to that cringe?
that wasn't a shoulder throw and there was no recovery to that botch.

>>734469
>Daton Fix
>>734606
how does what work? you twist the shit out of their elbow and make it bend in a way that it isn't suppose to, and then it keeps twisting till there is pressure on the elbow and shoulder.
>>734606
Kinda like a figure four/americana/ude garami.
I mean, you can see how it works in the clips. Guess you don't do much grappling?
As a side note, you can get an awesome grip if you grab the opponents opposite collar with the cranking hand.
>>734610
effectively, I'm not very familiar with grappling. I'm more of takedowns and striking but I really want to get into BJJ
>>734613
takedowns are grappling
so if you are a takedown guy you're a grappler,
all you're doing is twisting your overhook.
>>731916
I miss this.
>>735927
>>735928
>>734584
there is no aikido move like that
>>733790
Link to that fight?
>>737167
Anymore gifs of this fight, specifically how Emperor turned it around and won?
>>737301
The fight is like a couple of minutes really, it's just as easy to go "kevin_randleman_vs_fedor".
But eh, guess what, fedor wins with a kimura (after recovering for about 45sec)...
>>734750
This one is incredible also.
Some muay thai to thank you and keep that thread alive
>>737160
Slam again
>>737676
Is it a boon or a bane that BJJ guys are so apt to hold on to a hold and get slammed, instead of just letting go and resetting to standing while maintaining some semblance of control?
For a MA that so focuses on control of the situation, and the slow in slow out approach, I see so many practitioners that think they have a hold, and then get knocked out via a slam instead of just letting go.
>>737676
Jeff got the wind knocked out of him.
>>737696
its important to remember methodology. helio gracie developed this sport because he was too small and weak to do judo at an open weight, but he was competitive with newaza. this created something that all but disregards the physicality of martial arts to a fault and people think their technique is all they need.
sometimes you just gotta scramble though
>>734584
Thats not aikido you mouth breather
