Hello /asp/! I'm working on an enemy guide for God Hand, a 3D beatem'up videogame. This might seem like a bit much but this game's combat actually boasts a rather deep system, so I'd say the naming is warranted to help reference.

I'd go to /v/ for this, however:
1) /v/ is not very cooperative or knowledgeable period when it comes to action games
2) The main purpose is to name these attacks, as I'm sure many of them though exaggerated are based on actual techniques.

If you could even so much as tell me what type of punches or kicks are being used in each gif/pattern, I'd very much appreciate it.

It's actually 4, but thanks!

I don't have any more and when I'll be able to get more is dependent on a friend as I currently for the next 8 months have no way to record any gameplay. There are hundreds of attacks to go through and /asp/ isn't the fastest board so I think it'll be fine if we take our time. Fortunately, many classes of enemies share many of the same attacks.

You could save the gif and watch it piece by piece

Sorry about the speed, that gif is on Level Die, the fastest enemies go. Perhaps a webm version of these in the future could be helpful as enemies actually do grunts and shouts for every hit they do in patterns.

I highly appreciate the help so far!

Left hook
Right high kick
Left hook
Right hook
Left high kick
left Spinning back kick
>>
>>728758
all kicks above the torso are "high kicks"

also a spinning back kick targets the belly, youre confusing it with a spinning back wheel kick
>>
>>728855
>wheel
It's heel
>>
>>728855
>spinning back kick targets the belly
You're a fucking retard. It doesn't magically become a different kick based on target. Back kick is always linear and wheel/heel is always a curved trajectory
>>
>>728867
exactly.
the gif is showing a curved motion but the anon called it a back kick.

didnt mean to mention the target, i suppose you could kick any part of the body with a back kick depending on your flexibility

nah, then id just be a normal double leg takedown. known also to plebs as a "tackle"

>>731264
>i thought roundhouse kicks had to be more... round? isn't that just a normal kick?
nah roundhouse is the most general kick you can think of. and your leg does do a round motion pic related
>>
Also a few questions:

>>731221

>chest (or belly) bump
Do they have to be moving forward for this? My friend forgot that move with a version where instead of staying in place, he actually uses his belly to lunge forward. I feel naming the two differently due to how similar they look would be hard. Also

>>731299

>then id just be a normal double leg takedown

It's not a double leg takedown because they don't take you nor do they aim for the lower area with this move. Imagine carrying someone much smaller than you over your shoulder where their feet aren't touching the ground, then you slam them downwards. That's the thing.
>>
>>731570
>Do they have to be moving forward for this?
preferably not, why would you expose a weak area of the body while moving forward like that.
its not an actual "attack" in real martial arts, though a chest bump is sometimes used in the clinch to create space or unbalance your opponent slightly.

>>731570
>It's not a double leg takedown because they don't take you nor do they aim for the lower area with this move
i have no idea what youre trying to say here.
a double leg takedown just means you pick someone up by grabbing both legs (just under the butt usually). you can still slam them with the shoulder later and it wont stop it from being a double leg takedown
>>
>>731570
>Imagine carrying someone much smaller than you over your shoulder where their feet aren't touching the ground, then you slam them downwards
https://youtu.be/2JKE1UtCgyw?t=88
>>
>>731673
if OP is wondering what this is, its technically called a bearhug takedown or bearhug lift. the difference between a double leg and a bearhug is where you clasp your arms around your opponent.

a takedown just means you get someone on the ground btw. it can still be a slam or it can be a gentle laying of your opponent, so you can technically call it a "double leg slam" or "bearhug slam" to be more specific

Most of that shit is flying knees and wild haymaker swings.

aaaamaz gif - Other than the first spinning roundhouse, it's just wild swings with a pair of hand axes

tjoe mong gif - A bunch of tae kwon do roundhouses and side kicks, then a pair of bear hugs

brawl orange - haymakers, rolling uppercut, and giant sloppy front kicks

You really couldn't do that yourself?

>>
>>731220
Fifth was a butterfly kick
>>
>>731299
>nah roundhouse is the most general kick you can think of
That's a karate roundhouse there's no standard roundhouse
There's a karate one where you do hip rotation and snap and hit with the instep/between your angel and foot
There's a muay thai when that is a lever kick where there is no snap only hip rotation and the leg remains closer to straight the entire arc of the kick
And there is a savate roundhouse where there is little hip rotation and the power is gained from the snap and you hit using your toes because they wear shoes/boots in their martial art
>>
>>738964

>You really couldn't do that yourself?

Well I'm not knowledgeable on martial arts. I wouldn't know if something classifies differently from this or that, or exceptionally.

Doesn't hurt to make sure.
>>
>>739022
so it was anon. though i still dont think it would work as an actual strike because youre hitting with the same leg you intend to land on.
>>
>>739023
And the TKD rh which is superior to all of them
>>
>>739631
TKD is more or less identical to the karate its just that since they have the flamingo stance there is no chambering of the knee they just snap
I'd say that, you're correct, TKD is its own type of roundhosue
But it's like a cross of the savate and the karate
>>
>>739627
I personally would only ever do that AWAY from an opponent or attack, if I could even do that
Generally though I would never do any of those spinning techniques unless it was a spinning back kick and that's because due to its nature you can make contact while you're back is too your opponent.
Even then I wouldn't use a high kick in general unless it was in the middle of a combination.
I think that the best thing is low kicks to and around the knee and toe-stomps because they really hinder somebody after a 2 ore more solid strikes
>>
>>739636
TKD hasn't been similar to karate since 1956.

TKD has evolved far past the inferior kicking styles of others

It's far closer to savate then karate
>>
>>731941

What's the name of the kick on 1 of this webm?
>>
>>737581

Also for 2 of this webm I'm going to point out that the attack was dodged so you couldn't see the whole animation play out. It's the thing where they split open their legs, and the crotch area pushes against the face making the target drop the back of their head to the ground, with their enemy now sitting on top of them.
