This is pretty true. Sasha never losing cleanly actually wroks against her as a face imo. We relate more to characters who struggle not those who literally jsut win because plot reasons. This is why I'm a huge fan of Hirohiko Araki. He's put every main character in JoJo's Bizarre Adventure (I'm only up to Stone Ocean) in a near death situation. They may overcome these challenges but you can tell they've barely survived. Sasha on the other hand never really seems to struggle making her an unrelatable character.

It varies from part to part. I thought Part 4 did an excellent job with character development whilst still being over the top and fucking stupid as hell. Part 3 however doesn't really have that good character development imo. Part V also struggles with Giorno's character development but I still enjoyed it. It's not objectively good but denying any positive qualities because it's manga is retarded.
