What is you're /asp/ies verdict on wado-ryu karate ?
Been doing it for 2 months for my first martial art and I love it.

Wado-ryu is good. It's a mixture between Shotokan and parts of Jiu-Jitsu.

Do katas in sparring? Good for him if he can since he'll be the first motherfucker ever to do that.

They do appear to hit hard, but point-stop sparring teaches such absolutely terrible habits it's going to actively make you a worse fighter because you're going to learn to set up and land one good hit and then stop because you have no concept of following up. Go ahead and think you'll be the one special snowflake who doesn't fight like you train if you want, but it's not going to change basic psychology.
