Yes actual leagues which pay out actual money.

There are often league end tournaments in Vegas or Kansas City which feature prize totals of tens of thousands.

It depends on what type of darts you play - steel or soft tip, who runs/makes the dart boards, and where you are in the country.

You don't even have to be good. There are many stories of lower rated players winning more than enough money to make such trips worth it.

There's also a local tournament scene where you can play and make money that night.

It all depends on the local dart scene.

Does anyone play online using the bullshooter or dartslive boards?

Reckon someone on here could probably qualify for the BDO meat draw world championships, in all honesty.

The steel tip pros are all based.

It's a straight up mind game when you're that good.

I remember my first steel tip season. Really tests your mathnatical brain on the fly, and Di-DO is always challenging.

I've got dartslive league tonight. Drinking league.

The general lives!

Well our league did not go so well, lost 7-8 but against a professional player.

This is trios, so I do my best when playing singles and during our freeze match where our top guy doesn't play.

Managed to win both those games. Based on wins I'm still in the top 3 of our league.

The shitty part of the night is I needed 2 bulls to win the rubber game and I missed.

We play the #1 team next week (they took our top spot last night) and we had beaten them 9-6 the first match we played.

I really need to pick up my game, at my best I was almost ranked a 9 now I'm a 6, I was easily able to maintain a 7 before, but I think I have arm damage.

To put it into perspective the pro we played last night is ranked a 15, I have friends that are ranked in the 17s which is the highest rank under the unobtainable 18.

Darts is an alternative sport, more manlier than the toy gun shooters and Men in tights Soap Opera viewers that occupy this board.
>>
>>1453483
well much of it is done while getting drunk or while drunk.

I also play for money, most i made was 200$ for a game of cricket.

Does it involve women farting?
>>
>>1453543
Yes, fat women, really fat women.
>>
Suggest me a cheap dart set for home.
>>
>>1453584
sure, Those sets made by franklin are alright for the price and include two sets of darts. not really high quality, but ok for fun especially if you are not sure is youre going to get into it. price - 20-30$ and they are electronic so you wont have to keep score, The main problem with these are that the dart board is not the same as the boards you will find in the bars.

If soft tip is not your thing you can get a steeltip board, this may be good for an apartment as steel tip darts dont make much noise when they hit the board. steel tip darts can be dangerous, and you'll need to do your own addition subtraction and score keeping, This will run you around the same if you shop around.

In the end the board itself doesnt matter as much as getting as high quality darts as you can afford. darts included in these all in one sets are junk, but will get you started

I also have friends who have bought old cabinets in the range of 600$ if you are serious about practicing on an authentic bar board.

I spent 150$ on my soft tip board that was the dartslive licensed board - The 100S - nice because the dimensions, and sounds were all the ones from their bar setups.

They have also come out with sets that connect to your computer and you can simulate the bar experience. DARTSLIVE-200S , but it lacks any on-line functionality.

i think its funny too - i checked it and it actually uses bluepoop and a mobile app... its also in the 300$ range. still considering dart games are a $1 a pop - i pay 10$ for each league event, both teams in trios would total 60$ - 300$ is not that bad *if* you have someone to play with all the time. The dartslive and bullshooter machines offer online play, so going to the bar solo to play online darts is a thing.

Sweet, never seen a Dart thread on here before.

So what does everyone throw ?

Heres my Target Carrera C4 with Target conversion points and Winmau stealth stems and flights.

Looking into getting some L-style carbon shafts soon.

Wrestling fag here, to be honest it's difficult to have any alternate sport discussions here or find any. When you look at the catalog you just see wrestling threads with everything else buried in between.

I am one of the wrestling guys here who's been dying to have a clean up, but people just make useless wrestling threads 90% are memes and shitposting.

Do you only shoot steel tip, or do you go back and forth? I used conversion tips the first time I played steel tip league, but it wasn't the best. The darts were too light and at times would not stick (if it doesn't stick until you get scored it doesn't count).

I know that you spent a pretty penny on that set too.

I really need a new set of darts. The l style flights are more expensive than the set.

I wish I still had my 12gr barrels that are in the three in the black pict, not the stupid marijuana flights tho.

Lol I love wrestling, I watch all the televised stuff, I don't have the 9.99$ so I never watch "ppvs"

In fact me and some of the dart buds talk about wrestling while we play darts. I remember watching on a phone the ppv where Brock fought Seth and UT came back while playing dart league.

Allot of it is boys being boys. We are in our late 30s early 40s, we were raised traditionally and plopped in front of a tv to watch hogan, the vonerichs, the freebirds, Harley race, dusty, funks etc.

Some of us are drunks, some of us are not, there are women, men, sons and daughters, darts is a huge family thing where we are in Washington state.

In fact they are having the season ending dart tourney this weekend at some casino.
>>
>>1454184
Im English, we don't really have much of a soft tip scene here. I just prefer the fact that my main set can be used for soft and steel. I play in a few different leagues and play for my county.

My team mate had a brush with fame when he beat Mervyn King in a local tournament.
>>
>>1454356
Cool!

"most" players I know can't into math so steel tip is not happening. And to boot, the places that are steel tip feel like you are playing in a fucking library, no loud music etc. The soft tip leagues and even the tourneys are all like a high school party. Drinking smoking shit talking. I always tell people who play in league "this is bar darts" meaning you can't complain about random shit ruing your experience, concentration or whatever - no excuses. Of course we as a team display utmost sportsmanship, but I can't control the shit thats not me.

Don't get me wrong it's not like i enjoy having an all day hangover, but I don't want to be playing in a golf tournament.

Speaking of good players - http://www.dartslive.com/us/ - they show the count up scores of the month I know 3 of the guys on the list as they play around here (umm i am not good so im not claiming anything here) - good enough to be pros, but are happier just taking money from the locals. EVERY. NIGHT.
