It's because WWE doesn't get their audience anymore. Back in the day when they had competition they had no choice but to push guys the fans liked because if they didn't WCW would eat them alive. They also pretty much just copied whatever WCW was doing but with shear luck WWE guys were way more entertaining. Dixie Carter running TNA is the worst thing to ever happen to wrestling.
