Well kayfabe is pretty much, so maybe this is a new form of kayfabe... I mean, word gets around so fast about kayfabe injuries that it wouldn't do anything to patch up Reigns's poor reception with fans, and quite the opposite, would just seem like another way to forcefully push him.
Now with the suspension, however, they could reboot him as some kind of "bad boy / anti-establishment" heel character after it and see how the crowd reacts. I mean if WWE still sees him as a guy to invest in.
