Was he the best big man in history?
>>
>>1372800
Not in terms of ring work, no
>>
>>1372800
Yes. Anyone who says otherwise is underage and didn't get to see Taker at his best.
>>
Undertaker might have the best gimmick for a big man in history. As far as actual wrestling ability and working a match tho, I don't even consider him in the top 3 or 5.

Big John Studd, Giant Baba and Ernie Ladd would probably be my top 3. Honorable mention for Bam Bam Bigelow and Vader who were above average height but never billed often as giants, I still count them as some of the best big man workers of all time.
>>
>>1372800
Best in-ring? Not even close; probably not Top 5.
His best matches were with people who could work with his strengths, and whilst he's great, he was all about his gimmick, character intricacies and general overness. His wrestling ability wasn't great.

Big Man?
Common how can you not say Kevin Nash?
>>
>>1372800

Certainly the best overall career due to consistent competency at pretty much everything over a really long period.

Vader in his prime was better than Taker in his prime though.

Andre was dogshit and set a HORRIBLE precedent for huge guys who can't do goddamn anything that we're still suffering from today.
>>
>>1373433
Big show is 10 times the giant that Andre was.

If andre debuted today people would boooo him out of the planet
>>
>>1373433
Big Show is better

Vader is best but taker is arguably the most over big man of all time excluding andre

>Andre was good meme

If someone threw Giant Gonzalez into the 70's he would be considered a God and eight wonder of the world or whatever Andre was called too.

That dosn't mean he is a good and enjoyable to watch wrestler

Big Show. Amazing for a guy his size he could do drop kicks. In his prime ofcourse. In terms of who was most popular then it's Taker
>>
>taker's ring work was average
Taker Shawn 1 and 2 are considered two of the greatest matches of all time
>>

The Princess Bride?
>>
>>1373589

Andre was capable of good matches, but only when a) he had the right opponent (read: not some other fucking useless giant like Studd) and b) he was young/sober enough to give a shit.

That's not the biggest part of his career, unfortunately.

If we're talking straight up size-talent, it's Big Show, hands down, no contest, undeniably.
In his prime the dude was doing fucking LUDICROUS shit for his weight and height.
Even of recent years he's done sunset flip roll-ups. Not very good ones, but doing that shit, at his size, so far removed from his prime is incredible.
>>
>>1374505
Taker was lucky that his best matches were wrestlemania classics
>>
Vader
Bam Bam
Big Show
Kane
Umaga (if he counts)
>>
>>1372800
Taker's probably the most memorable big man in history, in moveset as well as gimmick/legacy. Dude has a lot of signature moves.
