No charisma or mic skills, WWE dropped his push out of nowhere and then simply refused to keep using him. 3MB got hot despite their wishes, so they jobbed them out more as punishment. Hard to look strong when you're jobbing to one guy when there's 3 of you so not much came from that except burying him further.

Probably WWE, more than anything.
They pimped him out hard as fuck, literally calling him Vince's "chosen one", then seemingly overnight lost interest.
