Book Goldberg and a midcarder showing talent(Jericho, Eddie, Benoit, really up to what other storylines are in progress) to face off against the nWo in a huge match, titles of some kind on the line or retirement match of some kind.
Huge surprise win, with Goldberg spending time on the apron unable to help, shenanigans ensuing to keep him out, monster hot tag to win it clean in the center.

Have consistent presence of the other competitor in leadup matches to a ppv, title going on the line, Mysterio consistently not able to get in, but showing promise each time.
Goldberg retains, but only after being frustrated by mysterio getting his shit in, and nearly dropping it,(Yes, it's going to look clumsy, who cares) streak broken on a technicality or referee disqualifying after putting mysterio through a table or chair shot. Eddie comes out to save the day, two manage to put down goldberg, eddie counts a three for his buddy, and they pat eachother on the back.
Goldberg loses it, starts going nuts on people, security walk becomes him being held back from murdering people on his way to the ring, Jericho ends up kissing ass to him(still runs his 'goldberg' solo angle for a bit before this), sidekick style but showing signs to breakout on his own at any moment again.
Benoit begins feuding with him, wanting the title, Eddie and Mysterio fuck off to their own backstab storyline. Benoit seems like he'll just get buried, Eric loses it onscreen, seems to hate Goldberg.

Marked man match declared by Eric, winner is whoever pins or submits Goldberg at next PPV Goldberg must eliminate every other participant to win. Benoit starting to show signs of promise against him, going over his own opponents and neither making a move against eachother directly.
Jericho gets weaseled into the match under the pretense of helping Goldberg. Throw in other participants who can do their own thing or have their own storylines off of it.
Match goes down, Goldbergs killing people left and right, Seems to be starting to work on Benoit, occasional close fall on Goldberg by multiple working together broken up by Jericho or other participants.
Benoit ends up elminating himself by dq due to a chair shot to Goldberg, Jericho capitalizes and uses some sort of finisher, doesnt matter which, gets the upset.
Goldberg loses it, becomes Brock Lesnar status monster heel who part-times, less money. Jericho pulls chickenshit heel champion for a while. Sting doing his silent treatment for however long, appears disgusted with Jericho's fleeing.
Angle with Benoit wanting another chance, Jericho keeps running away, retains by countout, ect. PPV rolls around, Benoit gets match against Jericho, Jericho looks to leave again. Sting clocks him with the bat, or threatens him back into the ring, drops a cage on the fucker. Sting then coerces the timekeeper and referee into a match, watches the whole thing, starts to take on a judge personality. Benoit barely wins.
At this point I'm already sunk or back in it. No way to tell which.
Benoit, Jericho, Guerrero, Mysterio and Van Damn will be by five pillars
at Starcade Booker T beats down literally everybody on the roaster and then feuds with Goldberg for the next 3 years
