Sad as fuck. Why would anyone want tonbe a wrestler after this movie?
Because you can wrestle without blowing every dime on pills
>>1299058
You get to fuck chicks who look like Marisa Tomei.
>>1299058
Money and hot chicks
>>1299058
because literally nobody ends up like this guy did
>>1299058
Why would anybody want to be a wrestler regardless of seeing the movie?
It's a prestige-less fake sport that would be a constant uphill battle if you're not born with physical gifts that are better suited to other careers that aren't considered a joke.
>>1299077
who is Scott Hall before he got saved by DDP
>>1299058
money and miles, mark.
>>1299077
Who is jake the snake roberst before getting saved by DDP
>>1299114
>Young Cucks and Cuckochet
>look ma I used the buzzwords again
>>1299116
Scott Hall was 1/3 of the group that started the biggest money era in the history of wrestling.
If only he didn't have a top rope finisher he would have lived
>>1299162
Who said he died?
>>1299058
Because it's a stereotypical Hollywood exaggeration.
Wasn't the dude headlining MGS in the movie? Then he moved to a deli counter or some shit? Nah.
Decent movie, but sadly very jarred in its perceptions of the severity of wrestler's declines.
>>1299171
Thats how the movie ended right? Dying in the ring poetry n shit
>>1299176
Roddy Piper and several wrestlers from the old days have praised it for its depiction of what can happen if you let it take control of your life. Of course it's not the norm, but it has happened and does happen to wrestlers. Not an exaggeration if several wrestlers can relate to it.
>>1299186
Did any of those guys end up working the deli counter?
No, because despite their vices, they still had money in the bank a steady line of work appearing on face-recognition?
Then it's an exaggeration.
>>1299189
He was working in the deli counter, but that's because he had to stop wrestling due to his health. He tried having a "real" job because he couldn't wrestle, not really his choice. So it's not like a situation like edge or Daniel Bryan where they get hurt in their prime and can still flourish after. He had a life threatening condition and was far past his prime. He goes to that signing to even show how his own popularity has dwindled, and it even explains how he may have lost most of his money due to his life of drugs and partying (leaving his daughter behind). His options were gone. So he has to take a shitty job like that.
>TL;Dr watch the movie again
>>1299180
it just turns to black after he jumps off the rope
>>1299199
Like I said, despite their vices, no other wrestler has wound up working in the deli counter because they have name/face-recognition they can use to make money, even in lieu of an in-ring career.
Therefore, it's an exaggeration. Not a difficult concept.
>>1299206
OK, bud
>>1299206
Justin Incredible had to work at Olive Garden
Shane Douglas had to work at Target
Virgil is Virgil
>>1299216
When did they headline MSG?
Try to keep up.
>>1299217
When did Randy?
>>1299216
Virgil was a teacher in Pittsburgh.
>>1299203
Yes well what do you think happened to him then?
why would anyone want to be a wrestler period
they destroy their bodies
Most wrestlers die around 50-60 and fuck their bodies up bad. Also unless ur a top guy the money isn't too great
>>1300713
>YOLO
cringed please gain inches and loose body mass index
>>1299453
The end is left up to the viewers interpretation. You can have it be whatever you want it to be. IF the makers of the film wanted him to be dead, for cannon, it would have said somewhere in the film
>>1300557
>they destroy their bodies
And DDP puts em back together again. Being a social outcast would be one of the best jobs of all time
>>1300713
this
>>1299152
he was a background figure and never main evented by himself
>>1300736
The guy was about to have another heart attack during the match. It is quite obvious that he likely wouldn't have survived.
But the point is that he was willing to die for it because it was all he had left.
>>1300820
Nice interpretation, bro
>had heart attack and problems
>clearly not healthy for wrestling
>ayo lets put dis dude in a match. no questions asked
Anyone else get pissed off by that ending? Sure he was introverted and didn't share, but anyone with and iq of 10 would not have let him wrestle just by looking at him.
>>1299176
>Because it's a stereotypical Hollywood exaggeration.
Cornette talked about this last year. He told he hated the movie. Even told he got DVD/Bluray for free and after watching it throw it out window while driving his car.
