Why are squash matches so rare nowadays? It is the easiest way to get talent over without watering them down with 50/50 booking and there are at least a dozen guys that aren't doing anything that could be jobbers.

Squash matches are fine when they actually serve a purpose, which is to make the guy going over look like some unstoppable force.
they are put on main event, superstars and smackdown
plus they'll manage to shoehorn a commerical break in between the entrance and the 1 minute match

If you had a guy in the ring, have someone else come out, have a quick 3 minute match and go on to something else without a commercial break, it would work fine
