Are you familiar with part of the reason punk left was the company not pushing the new guys, he wouldn't have been exposed as fuck because he would have accepted a place as talent enhancement putting guys over while maintaining a meaningful feud rather than look a squash match.
This isn't even a oh your butthurt thing. Punk understood you need to make future stars believable and organically, not mega push the guy with "the look"
Punk would have taken a mainevent at mania where he put the guy over if it made the product better and elevated all involved.
