I want to say falls count anywhere or hardcore, but I hate all the chasing and dragging each other along. It's hard to take it seriously when you can see them walking casually from spot to spot. There must be more inventive and plausible ways of getting from A to B.

Buried alive is pretty cool though. In actuality, I assume there's a trapdoor they get out through, followed by them pouring in the dirt. The camera angles of making it work is pretty neat. And the one time Taker pushed his arm up through the dirt - that was pretty cool to think about. It's like combing a magic show with wrestling. But not pussy-ass rabbit magic, like real shit magic.
I'm probably the only person who loved the Brawl For All. I realize it fucked talent up, and Butterbean was a fucking retarded idea (especially considering he thought the goal was to knock out Bart asap) but conceptually it was pretty cool

the problem is when gimmick matches don't allow you to suspend belief
like cage matches where they want to climb over the top - even after someone has already called for the fucking door to be opened. Like why would you spend two minutes walking across the ring and climbing the cage, when you could just ask for the door to be opened and immediately climb out. There are matches where "they just want to hurt each other" and wouldn't want to escape, but they have to do shit in a believable way

Do you not now what the Brawl For All was? It wasn't guys training for months to see who could be the best UFC fighter. It was pro wrestlers going out and fucking around in a shoot fight. Like if you got into it backstage and wanted to fight. The goal wasn't to train and then fight - the goal was just to fight, as is. The rules were stupid, but with better rules, it could be a fun way of fucking around - not a serious train-to-win thing though.
Also, keep in mind this was before mma got big. This was in the early days, where you had people like Shamrock and Severn (who were't in the tournament on purpose - again, this wasn't professional mma fighters going at it) in the wwe, bringing mma mainstream. Obviously it wouldn't have the same effect today, but I thought it was very fun to watch back then.
