I'm watching bash at the beach 2000 right now and the first match has a chavo vs juventud guerrera and the first thing i noticed is the amount of people ringside. Aside from the 1 or 2 tv cameramen there's 6 or 7 photographers just snapping pics leaning on the ring.

On a positive note, the angles used by the tv cam guys seem to be better than what you get with modern WWE, it actually sells their punches and moves as being more realistic and looks like it connects compared to the phantom hits we get on RAW etc.

Going to be dumping caps from this PPV

it wasn't enough for david flair and that jobber to be without pants, for who knows what reason, in a fight that was between 2 women but they got the ref to go pantless too

is that your first WCW ppv? They usually had a bunch of photographers around the ring...

WWF used to, back when there were magazines and people paid for print media (i.e. before the internet)

WCW also had connections with foreign wrestling companies, particularly in Mexico and Japan, so you see a lot more brown photographers

but WCW in general just did a shit job of hiding their photographers; WWF ones were far less noticeable, probably because they cared more about production values. WCW was part of Turner's media empire - not just a wrestling business

these happened a good 16-20 years ago, I haven't re-watched any of them since they aired when i was like 12 years old.

after this I got ECW from 97 to watch

>the fucking referee
>>
>>1096118

why the hell would you pick THAT as your first one?!? are you trying to start at the bottom and work your way up?

I'd start around the time of the nWo storyline adn go forward. or just start at the modern era of WCW (i.e. when Bischoff got power).
>with WWF, Survivor Series 97 is a great starting point
>WCW doesn't have as good of a clear-cut starting point
>>
>>1096257
I started rewatching last year at the Royal Rumble 97 and Bash at the Beach 96. Now in January 2000.

aren't the same guy, since they're completely contradictory...

regardless, why would anyone make a thread about such a shitty ppv?
>>
>>1096118
Not sure if they have it on the network, but start watching ECW from mid 1995 on
>>
>>1097294

just looked it up: in the "Vault" section, they have ECW as old as October 5, 1993

Oldest PPV though is only April 12, 1997 (Barely Legal)

That segment where taker exposed him as gay, knocked him unconscious and ended his career is truly fucked up.

Poor Kanyon.
