My new pet cockatiel is tapping his foot. They look like spasms or something. I'm trying to up the calcium in his diet but does anyone know of any other common causes for this? Obviously I have a vets appointment but it seems to make him very uncomfortable, I hate seeing him like that.

probably something he's eating

I'm not a vet but it sounds like it could be psychomotor agitation.

He doesn't seem agitated though. He seems very happy; he sings a lot, spends a lot of time outside, likes to eat. He is a seed junkie though. I offer him fresh food and pellets all the time, he's just so picky. That's why I'm thinking its a calcium deficiency.
