how do i tell the difference between a golden pupper vs a lab pupper. mine is 4 months old and as he grew i started to question whether or not he's actually a golden retriever. the guy who sold me this dog said he is golden, but he hasn't given me any pedigree creditentials from the parents since then and he sold it to me sick, claiming that he was in good health.
now he's a healthy young dog but his fur hasn't grown a lot, but his fur on the back and on the legs did get a bit more darker yellowish as opposed to the rest of his fur which is still almost white.
what can i do to find out ? i've grown fond of the pupper and i wouldn't give him away just because i got scammed, but at least i'd like to know if i got a golden or a lab
it's a mutt.

He is going to grow into a great golden retriever when he's older.

Hope so since they are more aesthetic, but as i said i like the little guy, i won't care much about his breed
Pic related when he was younger
Looks all golden to me! My golden was always very fluffy and feathery, but my neighbour's golden looked like a lab until she was almost a year. Every pup will grow differently and I think their coat continues to grow and change until around 2 years.
