Can someone identify this bird?
it was rather small, like a fieldfare maybe. Looks juvenile. I saw it wading around near some reeds.
Seen in southern Sweden, I should add.

Or actually, now that you pointed me in the right direction, I realize that it's a common moorhen. I remember seeing an adult one nearby. They're very similar, but have red foreheads.

Yep, you're right. Coots have really bright little bits of baby fuzzy feather feathers around their heads for the first few weeks. Both moorhens and coots have those weird non-webbed feets.
