I'm hoping somebody will know what these are... I don't have any pictures because they are so fucking tiny. These little black tiny bugs, I keep finding them around my house. On my legs, on the book I was reading, on the kitchen island. It is just one every so often. They seem too small to even be bed bugs, lice. They leave a black smear and crush impossibly easy and they are hardly bigger than a needle edge, and fast. Not pantry bugs, I have seen those. Not carpet beetles. Smaler than fleas. These look like those little bugs you find in water that's been left outside, I think.

I've been looking around and everything seems too big. These are super small, almost not seeable. Looks like a speck of dirt if they don't move, anybody have an idea what it might be?

Maybe drain flies? I used to get those fuckers every once in a while.
>>
Need a little more info than that. Maybe a better physical description. But a pic would really help.

fungus gnats are a fairly common small indoor bug if you have dirt (like potted plants) anywhere.

drain flies, as the other person said, happen too if you're in one of those houses with drains

fruit flies are also a common indoor thing if you have fruit/veggies/fruit juice/etc for them to breed in

and now I realize you didn't say they were flying, so uhh... err... do they look like beetles?

No. They are tiny tiny ovals with what appear to be tiny antennae. They are smaller than drain flies, amd smaller than even very small gnats. They are almost not visible they are so small. I didn't realize it was a bug until it started booking across the counter. It is so small that once you crush it, it either leaves a small smear or disappears completely. They don't fly. They run very quickly. I would try to describe it better but it is so ridiculously small there is no way I could define it's features further than miniscule, black, with small antennae, seemingly oval shaped, and quick. Like a flake of black pepper cut in half.

I'll try to get a picture but the few I've encountered were accidental. I only saw them because they were against a white surface (counter, book page, my leg).
