I saw a much larger one later, a little over twice the size. Nigher, that doesn't look all the beneficial to me.

Any idea what this is?
It's a little over 1" from wingtip covering to wingtip covering if that's what those are, around 1/2" long, photographed late September if the date was correct, in Western Washington. Most of the photos are a little washed out, coloring was probably slightly darker than the photo above the text.
I've lived here forever and seen like three of these total, mistook this one for a pine needle at first glance, that's probably why.
