I'm going to buy a juvenile dynastes hercules in a few weeks. Any tip or advice?

Pretty much this.
It'll live for 2-5 months, maybe even less and that's it. Do yourself a favor and buy a pair.
Anyway make sure the box is big enough for the beetle to move and climb around freely, put in enough soil so the beetle can bury itself during the day (should be 6+ inches deep at least) and don't put in useless decoration like thin sticks/branches on which the beetle can't even climb on.
Also, not all beetles like beetle jelly; some will even ignore it. Make sure to slice the jelly pot in 2 halves since Beetles with long horns tend to have trouble accessing the contents from an intact one buried in a hole. Banana works 90% of the time tho.

Uhh do you even have the substrate mix ready? It's not like a pet scorpion or something, you can't just feed it a banana and call it a day.

I honestly hope that this is just bait
