And the fact that, for how interested and surprised they were, the guy just lowers the camera without filming more? As someone who has worked with gators, no, they can't. They can lunge forward quickly in water, and be decently quick in the water, but they are slow as shit on land.
Small ones can run, but they still couldn't run down a person.
You can literally stand right in front of a pissed off gator on land (obviously far enough away it can't just lunge and grab you) and be pretty safe.
