Once I was driving my car back from Indy to visit home. It was super late at night , like 2am, and I was taking a back road I always take on that drive. Halfway home I could see some fog ahead of me and assumed it was just because of the river under the upcoming bridge.
It wasn't fog. It was fucking BILLIONS of flying insects(mayflies maybe?) and I fucking hit that swarm full speed. It lasted a solid 2 minutes and in that time It was absolute chaos and armageddon for those fuckers. It got to the point where my entire car was just plastered completely with dead winged insects. Exploding wings pinged my windows and their guts and legs kept piling up more and more. I could not see out of any of my windows within seconds. The noise their bodies made as they exploded against my car was thunderous. Eventually, even my side windows got completely covered up by the dead. I seriously thought this was how I was going to die. I was going to be buried alive in little dead bodies.
But finally the noises ended. I had to pull over and scrape a big enough hole out from their guts that was several inches deep just so I could see the road again. My windshield wipers wouldn't budge as there was a solid 6 inches of them lodged in every nook of my hood. The smell of burning bugs began to fill the cabin from the ones that were filtered through my radiator and hood. I desperately searched for the first gas station so I could pry the mess out from my car and get home safely.
When I pulled up to the gas station there was a guy on the pump next to me that saw my insect gut plastered car and asked "Dude, what the fuck happened to you".
I was like "Just.. just.. stupid stuff went down."
