I'm getting a Siberian Husky later this year and I get to choose if I want a male or female.
I like the idea of getting a female one because I've never raised one myself, all my dogs have been male so I have no idea what are the downsides of each one. Also I'm in a new country and I haven't had a dog in about 4 years.
Any comments and recommendations on this?

but OP, you'd probably be best off with a spayed female, especially if you aren't an extremely experienced owner. and be carful with huskies, they require a fuckton of socialization and training to not be problem dogs.

Sadly it is an apartment, not sure if it helps but she'll have a huge living room and kitchen to be around of that helps. I'm planing to go for walks at least two times at day because my works allows me to do that so I'll be most of the day with her.

Which is another thing I'm not sure how to handle, leaving the dog alone in the house could be dangerous for her but also not a fan of crating so far...
On the same home alone topic, apart from toys, would TV help her stay calm or not bored? Also trying to be considerate with the neighbors as I would like a non-stop howling machine for hours.

The bleeding lasts about a week to two weeks. You can either build a dog house for outside and get her used to sleeping outside on occasion while she's young, or crate train and take her out frequently for walks/jogs/potty breaks while she's bleeding.
Huskies are not known for being good offleash dogs, so be extra cautious when she's in heat. Also never leave her unsupervised outside during this time.
