I just adopted this new cat, he's just sitting in the corner. I know it could take a week for him to adjust, but it's really unsettling to see him crammed in a corner like that.
Anyway, I'm still thinking of what to rename him, he's 2 years old, not sure what breed but he's got the tuxedo look going on.
Name him Rocket.
>breed
Also, feeding times instead of free feeding and playing with him will help him adjust to you and the new place much quicker.

It will take at least a week and up to 2 or 3. Just let him do what he wants and leave him alone. If you have an extra bedroom or quiet office or something that would be the best place for him.

Domestic short hair or mutt. VERY few cats actually have a breed. They aren't like dogs

Name him Braxton. Or Simon.
I have a tuxedo cat too.
How about Gus?
When I adopted an adult cat she did something similar, she retreated to the top of my wardrobe for two weeks and only came down to eat or use the litter box. Just give him time, and he will adjust.

Tuxedo look = Bond. Kitty Bond
Update, Kitty's name is Pocci. He's already settling in with me. However, he still runs into the corner whenever he's startled and I have to coax him out, which takes ages.

Shoulda named him Rocket.

I could've named him Obama, be glad I didn't.

Boy named Pocci...
Boipocci? Pretty lewd desu senpai
>>2116255
Pronounced Poe-chi

I wouldn't even coax him out. If he finds comfort in being in a corner, let him be in a corner. It'll be better for your relationship in the long run if you let him do his own thing.

When I put my hand out he'll come out of hiding and let me pet him and hold him, until something startles him or I start to walk away.

Hell start exploring around and being confortable soon. Just call his name and pet em or something when you pass by him
Cute cat btw
