Hey /an/ I just got a new betta fish and I can't get him to eat. I think it might be due to stress in his temporary living conditions, so i'm going out today to get him bigger living conditions.
Anyways, what do you feed your betta? Pic related, it's what i'm trying to get him to eat.
Here's my betta. Like I said before, today i'm going out to get him a tank. Preferably with a filter.

When i was younger and stupid and didnt know proper living conditions my mom got me bettas and they lived their whole pretty long lives in little bowls like this. They were bright and ate and didnt seem stressed at all. Im sure hell be alright for one day.

You should have a had a setup prepared before you even got the fish. Now you have to go get a tank and filter and decorations and cycle it and all that and hope that your betta doesn't suffocate in its own feces before then.
I don't even own fish, this stuff should just be common knowledge.
If only people had used images of fish for /aq/ threads people would see it and post there instead of in separate threads.
With some bettas, you just have to feed them live prey. Try some mice but be sure to bash them around a bit first so they don't injure your betta. As a last resort, you can try tease feeding where you 'attack' the betta with a dead feeder. Be careful, the risk of being envenomated is quite high because you're stressing it out.

The food will produce ammonia if it's not going to be cleaned, which in turn kill the fish.

5 gallons is like the BARE minimum for bettas. 10 gallons is just fine.
