So, I guess this is the place to post this, I've found this rock and it picked my interest, but since I know next to nothing about minerals (other than the fact that mineral water exists), could someone identify it please? Its rather smooth to the touch.
looks like flint.
It's chert, a sedimentary rock of very fine silt particles.

Is it trained? I always have trouble getting my rock to do what I want using negative reinforcement.

Nope, I just found it, so for now its kept away from my other rocks. For now it seems content to lay on one of my speakers and vibrate to some smooth jazz.

Too small for toolmaking. Did you find it at a beach? That's the worst place to look if you want useful flint.
Pretty generic rock. As a kid I used to pick rocks at the shore and fjords. This is my favorite one

You do realise that in order to get a stone tool roughly that size, you'd need to start with a stone several times larger?
