hey dudes. I'm an idiot, and a dog (puppy I believe) has presented himself to me. as in, I was mowing my yard one day, and he just came running to me.
I knocked door to door a few doors down in a good radius, nobody claimed it. he seems to have imprinted on me pretty good now, seeing how he has stayed in my front yard for 2 days now. I might keep it, at least until someone comes forward.
my question is, what breed is it?

If he has a chip, a vet'll find it and call the owners.
Also if you keep it you'll need to give him a check up.
Vets are shit at figuring breeds out anyway.
OP here, he's not a chihuahua right? fucking hate those. also a buddy of mine claimed it is a great dane.

Look at his teeth, if they're all small and pointy, it's likely just young. Dogs grow up too, man. My dog went from 3Kg to 6 over a month, then to 12 over another, and now she's nearing 20.
Not a chihuahua. Definitely a puppy. I dunno breed.
Yes vet for checkup and chip check.
