I always feel sort of bad when I go fishing and bait a worm

If I'm not catching anything he's having a decent time though, right? Must be like Six Flags for the little guy, flying through the air and getting dunked into the water repeatedly

I have some worms in big plastic containers; but I have to leave a light bulb on above the culture, otherwise they will leave it during the night.
Any idea or other strategies to prevent this?

They are in a bin with coco fiber, and a drainage layer.
