What is it about foxes that attracts these types?
>>1966235
It's Disney and mental illness.

I almost ran over one of those driving through Canada. It was super cute as it scampered off the the highway.
>>1966235
well, they're pretty aesthetically pleasing and the narrow features might imply a seductive look.
But other than that your guess is as good as mine. There's thousands of different animals species and thousands of furries and 90% of all furries choose foxes or wolves.
>you will never ever a Russian domesticated fox

Actual furfag here with answers.
Believe it or not people actually have done studies on these things. Like legit PHD led research.
Furries don't get more creepy austies than any other group, raw numbers wise. But they come off as creepy as that guy 'cause furry in general is some weird shit and being a predominantly online community often end up with fucked up ideas on what's appropriate public behavior. I have some horror stories, but honestly they're not much worse than the weebo.
As to why furries love foxes so much. People are way more likely to empathize with another mammalian species than other animals, and the further away from characteristics you can personify, the less appealing the species. That's why you see a billion dogs and cats but hardly any bugs and no fish. Wolves and foxes are the low-hanging fruit. They're dog-like enough that everyone knows the features and mannerisms, yet as wild animals hold more of an exotic appeal than a domestic dog. Plus human culture has ascribed all sorts of attributes to them that attract certain types.
Also back in the day the thing that got a lot interested in the anthro style was Robin Hood, which surprise surprise was a fox. Star Fox and Renamon from Digimon just added fuel to that fire.
Fuck'n hell, it's 6 AM and I'm answering questions no one wanted answered.
