sup /adv/, recently minted PhD in English lit here. market is shit for tenure-track work. I am seriously thinking about going back for Chemistry; I love learning and get free tuition at any public university in my home state up to 150 credit hours.

so would this really be so weird? what would your thoughts be about a 40 year old who is going back to get a second bachelor's degree in a scientific field after getting a PhD in a humanities discipline?
