will eating some candy and drinking some soda right now be a bad idea?

but since you obviously dont care about your health (dental and otherwise) its fine. this isnt an accusation, just a statement.

Soda and candy causing most damage to teeth is a popular misconception. It only does damage if deposits get stuck to your teeth - in fact fruit tends to be much worse for this.
If you brush regularly and carefully, and don't eat anything that sticks heavily, it is unlikely to do a lot of damage in a short time.
However that doesn't mean candy and soda is good for you, and you should cut back anyway. Eat lots of fruit and brush/floss after. Much better for you.
