Everyone's always asking the opposite but let me explain my scenario

I have been struggling on and off for 3-4 years now with a condition called Gastroparesis. It makes it extremely difficult for me to eat large amounts of food without being in pain. This, coupled with the fact most of the only foods I like have low calories, is literally killing me. I am 19 rn and am currently weighing 85 lbs, and have never gone above 105

People always comment on how small I am and that I don't care about my health and it horrifies me because it hurts so badly to do a normal everyday thing 3 times a day(and the pain can linger after that quite a long time depending on the situation). I look in the mirror and I can see myself getting smaller to the point where it looks somewhat sickly, and the sight is frightening. I really just want to be normal and be able to live without something simple being so complex.

Please help me 4chan and tell me if there's any way to gain weight without eating a ton, or if there's anything super calorie dense out there other than chocolate or whatever. I'm desperate to get better

Ever considered that your "gastroparesis" could be psychologically inflicted?

Medfag here

Talk to your specialist. I imagine you're on something like metoclopramide or domperidone already?

My off the record advice would be fats. You literally can't eat anything more energy dense than fat, at 9kcal/gram
Try olive oil... But expect some mean poops if you do this endlessly

One pound of fat is 3,500kcl. You'd gain around a pound of fat for every ~400mL of olive oil, on top of your maintenance (which for you would be very low)

Fried chicken, fast food, milk shakes, king size candy bars

Considered, and denied. I've had a few gastroenterologists run tests on me and my body takes an insanely long time to move anything through my system, so I'm convinced I'm not crazy, just very unlucky.

It's not uncommon for it to have physical causes, like vagal innervation dysfunction
>>

I'm on neither. But I'll look into those, they've never been mentioned by any of my doctors
I'll try the olive oil and see how it works then

They're gastric stimulants that increase the speed food passes through the stomach... Therefore allowing you to eat more before feeling nauseous

OK, if you where checked by real doctors, why do you ask for advice on the shithole of the internet?
Your doctor probably already told you what I've found at wikipedia after a few minutes research.
"Eating smaller meals, spaced two to three hours apart has proved helpful. Avoiding foods that cause the individual problems, such as pain in the abdomen, or constipation, such as rice or beef, will help avoid symptoms."

whole milk.

Energy dense shakes. Snack on nut butters. Tbsp of olive oil or other healthy oils a day. Mix avocado or butter in things.

Man, you should really talk to a doctor what you could do. All I can give you are tips for god tier bulking food /fit/ that may or may not work under your condition.

Calorie dense food:
>all kinds of nuts
>peanut butter
>milk (because it's easy and quick to consume in large quantities)
>some /fit/izens drink shots of olive oil in the evening if they want to meet their calories for bulking up

I had trouble eaing enough because I have a condition with my esophagus. Homemade bulking shakes gave quick and easily consumed calories.

Recipe for a bulking shake:
50g whey
100g oats
50g ground almonds
500ml milk
tbsp ev olive oil
>now blend that shit and gulp it down. you've just managed to consume 1000 calories.

i used to suffer with my weight too. i was under weight about 4 years, and often people would say i am small etc. Im pretty big now for my height because i went on a bulk and do weight training. i basically just eat shit, and took in alot of protein. Weight gainer drinks are useful for people like us, i suggest checking them out. also, try peppermint oil if you have digestion problems.

This is the best advice in the thread OP, other than that I would recommend asking /fit/ for help. Just remember to take everything they say with a grain of salt.

Thank you very much. I usually have a hard time getting down nuts, but I bet they'd be a lot easier to consume in a shake like you're suggesting.
>>17356846
I'll see what I can find for weight gainer drinks as well as the peppermint oil trick, ty vm

what >>17356829 said. Right now im taking serious mass which has 1250 calories per serving (water), 1400 calories with almond milk, and 1640 with low fat milk. Personally I use it with almond milk because it smoother than regular milk. Ask your doctor if the product is ok for you though.

here's the link
https://www.amazon.com/Optimum-Nutrition-Serious-Chocolate-Pound/dp/B000GIPJ0M

The scoops are pretty big so you might want to do 1 scoop in the morning and 1 scoop before you sleep. Use a blender because the powder can sometimes be hard to mix.
>>
>>17356893
also, the weight gain powder has a distinct taste. I have chocolate and dont get me wrong, it is chocolaty but I tend to find myself gagging but hey, it's better that forcing down meals.
>>
>>17356900
How thick would you say the drink is once all of it is mixed/blended?
>>
>>17356903
Not thick at all considering the 22-24 ounces of almond milk I put into the blender. Im not a fan of thick drinks so I can say using almond milk is comfortable for me to drink. For starters I suggest using water at first because it will go down the easiest.
