I have an irrational fear of being randomly murdered. I know truly random killings are extremely rare, but I worry that I'll be out hiking or on a run and get gunned down. I kinda want to buy a gun but I'm worried that I'm not stable enough to be a responsible gun owner.

Any /adv/ice? This constant fear and anxiety is starting to take its toll.

Not a constructive advice:
It was a considerable effort but now I am not afraid of death anymore, try going that way, maybe choose some religion if you really need to or make your own, it is totally worth it knowing you could die any moment and be motivated by this thought
