I'll try to be brief. I'm a paramedic and I work for a private company that doesn't do 911. I was recently turned for a job with the 911 agency because I need 'better experience'. My only other option is another private company that does some 911. They don't pay any better, I would almost certainly do mostly the same thing but I would have a chance to maybe get the 'better experience'. Should I do it?

I'm not a fire fighter (and I have no plans of ever becoming one) so my options are a lot more limited. There's only two counties that have stand alone EMS.

Plenty of work. You just have to have the want or ability to move. I'm an EMT and I work both on a rig and in the ER. Keep looking, broseph. The experience will pay off. Im getting experience so I can work overseas when I finish my paramedic.
