How do I stop getting bored of everything so quickly and easily?

I'm only 19 years old, but I've already started to do and learn a lot of things: from coding mobile games and microcontrollers, learning a ton about human psychology and manipulation to directing and editing amateur movies with more and more special effects.

The problem is, I rarely finish anything I've started. When I find something that looks interesting, I get really enthusiastic, learn all I can about it in a day or two, then get bored, and simply stop it.

This has lead to two things:
1.: I've accumulated a shit-ton of knowledge on topics that will probably never be relevant.

2.:My ego varies from being a god compared to the average people at my age, due to all the information I've learned; to being a worthless piece of shit for barely finishing anything.

Problem is, I'm going to university in this September to study electrical engineering, and I'm afraid I'll start to hate engineering as a whole well before my studies end.

Is there a way to overcome this?
One more thing: I have ADHD, and I had to take Ritalin for quite a while (it actually helped me to concentrate during my exams). Could that be relevant?

Getting employed usually solves this by having someone else force you to work even when you don't feel like it.

literally me? im with you all the way on worrying im going to regret my choice of study. i came into college with entirely STEM subjects since it was what i was good at but i fucked up my grades and have since found a lot more joy in the arts

I'm glad to hear that I'm not alone. Since my drawing skills didn't develop much past kindergarten, the artiest thing I did / do is making movies and 3d modelling and then printing "inventions".

The best one thus far is basically a little magnetic bracelet that lets you carry a pepper spray under your sleeve.

I had the same problem for the longest time. Went and got tests done (unfortunately after college) turns out I had adhd. I didn't get Ritalin instead I was put on Guanfacine and it seems to help a lot.

Also electrical engineering is fun, but I find mechanical engineering has better job opportunities, especially during college.

Good luck man
