Can't get a job

My stats:

>top ten school for undergrad (engineering, shit gpa)
>small silicon valley grad school (very good GPA)
>two summer internships with large company in field
Why aren't I getting any play with job applications? I've applied to maybe fifty entry-level jobs in my field and haven't gotten one interview, what gives?
What kind of engineering are we talking about? Why can't you parley your internship with the company into anything?

This is mechanical engineering. And I could, but the internships were in chem/process, and I kinda want to branch out from that.

It's hard to say what you are doing wrong considering all of the mitigating circumstances that we can't know. Have you used your connections from grad school? Have you tried hitting up professors, classmates, the colleges career center? Basically it's time to cast a wide net, personal connections help tons.
