It won't work, you'd be better off just turning your fridge off since it produces as much or more heat than it cools down on the inside. It would balance itself out.

Fridges don't magically make cold.
super simplified, they basically suck the heat out of the air inside your fridge to make the inside cold, and spit out that heat through fans in of the back.

Yes! This! A fridge isn't an air conditioner. Running it in a closed space creates heat overall. The fridge pulls heat from its interior and moves it to the coils in the back. Leaving the door open won't cool the room. It'll make the room hotter because you're running an appliance. Plus more bills for your trouble.
