How do I handle excruciating pain? I am going to a third world country and getting a surgery without anesthetic. It will last 30 minutes. How do I handle the pain that's said to be 8/10 on the pain scale?
what surgery are you having and why?
I don't think they allow pain killers because they thin your blood, but maybe getting a leather strap to bite would be good. Is not getting the surgery until getting a first world hospital not an option?

I could use pain killers or numbing creams but they won't prevent the pain, only anesthetic will and I can't get my hands on any. I am leaving in a week and it's time sensitive, if I stay here they'll make me wait much longer while doctors there take people in immediately.

If you take enough pain killers you'll still feel it but you won't give a fuck. Sounds like that and a leather bite is your best bet.
