How to keep calm when you are waiting for terrible news?

I just keep googling about the possible outcomes and can't think about anything else. I don't know when I will get to know what the situation is and I am so stressed about it. Things might turn out well still but god I am so anxious. If I try to focus on watching TV, running, doing school stuff or anything I just end up thinking about the situation. How to calm down?
