I can't switch ISP's as I'm living with distant relatives and they already have this shit established. Is there anything I can buy or whatever to make my desktop into a internet powerhouse? I don't mind paying yearly, but yeah this speed may as well be dial-up. Do those hotspot things work with desktops? I really don't know if what I am asking for even exists.

u can do some computer programming to increase ur ping and decrease ur download speed. it depends what u want faster..its called throttling. if u want faster dl speed u need to ask company for a specific wire and update ur plan

Why not just have another company set up your Internet in their house? Don't break any walls or anything, though.
