I only use the word crush because I really dont know any other substitute for the word.
Like what else do you call it? Otherwise you have to change the entire structure of the sentence just so you can say you like someone in a different way.

I wonder this too. A guy recently told me he had a crush on me and it was seriously disappointing because the word "crush" sounds trivial and fleeting. Do people actually use it to describe an intense feeling?

I stopped using the word crush when I turned 18 because it made me feel really immature. I just started saying "I think so and so is so fucking hot."
