Dear anons,
How to deal with grief?
I can't just sit at home crying my eyes out all day. I have to like, go to work and clean my house and whatnot.
My gf of four years broke up with me yesterday. I also found out yesterday that the grandmother who raised me is on her deathbed, and I am in another country and unable to visit. Then my newly born-again father called, and told me if I can't accept Jesus as my personal savior, he is done talking to me and cutting me out of his life.
I've certainly had worse days, and lost people close to me before. But for some reason, it is really hitting me hard today. I can't stop crying.
I have to go to work, and mow my lawn, and do laundry. I can't just sit around crying.
How do I snap out of this, anons? At least enough to be functional for the next week, until it stops hurting so much?

Sounds like you know what you have to do, or want to do. So, ask yourself. What matters to you right now? What's important? Are you crying because you're sad? Or are you crying because you don't have the answers to handle the situation you find yourself in?

fresh breakups hurt the most, like when you first break your arm or something
for the short term, maybe gaming or a book or something to busy the time, but eventually just moving on if things dont come back around
if it takes 2 years to gain 50 pounds, you wont lose it in a week, so 4 years was a long time...
