I've been reading all this stuff about healing 'healing your inner child' basically it's just about healing those wounds from when you were a kid.
There's a lot of behaviours I do that don't work for me in real life. I have a very unhealthy relationship with authority. I fear it when I can see it, it was the same for my dad. Whenever he was around I would just be silent and wait for him to tell me how to act.
When he wasn't around I could be 'myself' and when he came home it was 'oh shit, he's here. Quick hide' type feeling.
Being the youngest I never had a relationship with my dad. He passed away recently so it had me thinking about things.
How can I repair that meaning of what a father is to me? Can I be my own authority now?

Sounds like massive daddy issues. If you're a chick, you're going to be dating lots of bad dudes who will take advantage of you. if you're a dude, just man up and take charge of your life. Who cares about the past.

I'm a god damn male. The thing is everything I've been doing has just been to cover up this problem. I'm 23 and I'm still a god damn boy

My dad died when I was 4,and at 20 years old I still feel like a boy,not a man.Perhaps this is why and I never made the connection
