How can I get over completely irrational anxiety, especially online?
I got myself invited to a raid activity in a video game, and as soon as we start I got scared and couldn't fathom telling them I hadn't done it before. I ended up abandoning them in the middle of it because I freaked out. If I wasn't too nervous to use a mic either, the entire situation could have been circumvented.
Oh for fucks sake, Anon. Are you fucking serious right now? We fucking needed you back there, man, and you fucking bail on us? Jesus christ. What, because you were afraid of saying it was your first time? What the fuck?

Ahahah. I've been there. I still have some anxiety but honestly, all you have to do is just laugh at yourself a bit. Say "sorry guys I'm kind of a noob" in the most honest, humble way possible to get it out of the way. That way people will hold your hand a bit and not rage at you entirely because you've self-depreciated yourself from the get go. After you get used to it, you'll warm up.
