I lost my career today. I needed to pass a standardized test kind of thing for a major promotion, and I failed. I studied a lot last night, but I wasn't fast enough at the math portion (which had to be done entirely by hand, no calculator). So, I couldn't get the 20 question test done in 25 minutes.

I think I aced the logic/English/portion, but it's over. What do I do now? Stick to my role? Apply elsewhere? Give up?

I let down everyone on my team and now they have to spend months finding someone new even though I'm qualified. I can not retake it for two years.

OP again, the test was fucking bullshit - here's a rough example of a math question:

“our product profited $12,4532.22 in 2000. annually, profits raise by 15.3%. alternatively, the product takes %32,925 to produce, and will reduce in cost by 44.7% annually. in which year will the product become cheaper to produce?”
