You could always consider looking at websites/magazines for men's hairstyles and find one that you might like to try! Give that a shot before letting someone else decide what would look right for you...
I had long hair, and when I cut it off I just took a picture from a magazine in with me and said, "Something like this."
There really isn't much variance in short hair styles.
