Does anyone here go out by themselves? I'm in a situation currently where I don't really have friends who can/want to go out for the night, and I never do but I'm back in the city and want to start trying.
If my glaring lack of confidence wasn't apparent, yeah I'm not good at this type of stuff. Specifically, I'm self conscious about being such a big loser I have to go to a club or bar solo, and I'm sure I look like a fuckboi stooge just sitting at the bar by my loansome. Also, having social anxiety coupled with depression, maybe bars aren't my best option. Any suggestions on where to meet anyone? My shyness is killing me and house parties haven't been fun since I started looking older than everyone else in attendance.

I do go out by myself and the thing is that you can meet new people that way and be an idiot without risking your reputation too much.
Dude (or gal) I do every fucking thing by myself. If I was afraid of going out alone I'd never leave my house. This includes: going to restaurants, movies, shows, walks, hikes, etc. pretty much everything. I'm one of those weirdos who will sit in a bar for hours, reading a book and not talking to anyone.
Don't let being alone stop you from getting out. Who knows, you might get lucky and meet a new friend out somewhere.
